4th: Happy Birthday Teflon. Teflon was patented by Roy Plunkett on February 4, 1941. I know longer use Teflon...Here's the patent.
4th: Alexis Benoist Soyer-During the first half of the nineteenth century, Alexis Soyer, a Frenchman from Meaux, was the most famous cook in London.
4th: According to the CDC, February 4th is National Stuffed Mushroom Day! So does Web Holidays and they have a recipe.

4th: Frank C. Mars of Minnesota introduces the Snickers Bar in 1930.
5th: On February 5, 1884, African American, Willis Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio, patented an improved mechanical egg beater (U.S. pat# 292,821)

11th: National Inventors' Day was declared by President Ronald Reagan on February 11, 1983. I have a blog called Tasteful Inventions dedicated to food inventions. Here's the link.
11th: Today is the birthday of "the ambassador of French cuisine," Paul Bocuse. and the day The French Chef made its debut on with Julia Child.
It may just be a coincidence but Plum Pudding Day, February 12th, also falls on St. Julian's Day. St. Julian the Hospitaler, is the patron of travelers and innkeepers.
13th: National Tortini Day13th: On February 7, 2000 California lawmakers declared Sunday, February 13, as "Charles M. Schulz Day" to coincide with the final Peanuts Sunday strip. (Schulz Museum Timeline)
On February 14, 1803 the apple parer was patented by Moses Coates. Now there's a scroggle for Valentine's Day. Peel an apple without the skin breaking, throw it over your shoulder. It is said it will reveal the initial of your true love:)
Here's an interesting tidbit from Yum Sugar. February 15, 1758: First Mustard Ad Published. I LOVE mustard by the gallons but you might prefer Gum Drops. The 15th is also Gum Drop Day! T.W. over at Culinary Types has a retro recipe for Gum Drop Cake just waiting to be plucked. Tell him Louise sent you:)
